There are three categories on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List:
- Substances prohibited at all times: Includes, but is not limited to, hormones, anabolic steroids, EPO, Beta-2 agonists, masking agents and diuretics.
- Substances prohibited in-competitio (In-competition period may be different for each sport. Generally, it covers the period from 23:59 the night before the competition until the end of the competition): Includes, but not limited to, stimulants, cannabinoids, narcotics and corticosteroids.
- Methods prohibited at all times: Includes, but not limited to, blood manipulation, intravenous infusions more than 100 mL (in 12h) in some cases.
Frequently used medicines such as asthma medicines, high blood pressure medicines and insulin are prohibited in sports. If you need a treatment with these medicines, you must apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) with your physician.
